Mazda

Mazda Motor Corporation, founded in 1920 in Hiroshima, is the only manufacturer to have produced the rotary (Wankel) engine in mass-market vehicles. The RX-7—across the SA22C, FC3S, and FD3S generations—and the later RX-8 (SE3P) remain the primary exports of rotary-powered JDM vehicles. The 13B-REW twin-rotor twin-turbo in the FD3S produced 255 PS JDM-spec. Mazda's piston-engine portfolio covers the AZ-1 mid-engine kei coupe, Bongo van, and Cosmo sport-luxury; the NA/NB Roadster (Miata) was sold JDM-spec alongside global variants. The RX-8 used the Renesis 13B-MSP (naturally aspirated, side ports), distinct from the earlier peripheral-port engines.
