Description

Stock #7035 A favorite here in America, like this J100 Land Cruiser, was a massive success around the globe, too. It sets the bar high in terms of reliability, refinement, and capability. Exterior Overview A favorite here in America, this J100 Land Cruiser was a massive success around the globe, too. It sets the bar high in terms of reliability, refinement, and capability. This 1998 is set off by OEM rainguards, a TRD spoiler, and LED tail lights, and OEM 18″ alloys wrapped in meaty all terrains. Aside from a few light dings, chips, and scuffs, the one-off Buckroe Black paint is in good shape, and this 4×4 is fresh off a recent service. Offered with a mere 119k verified and documented miles on the clock, this terrific Toyota has logged a fraction of the miles of most American examples. Safe, durable, and stylish, this lovable Landy would be at home at the country club, on the beach, or sailing down the interstate with the family. A Japanese Classic with such versatility and practicality is nothing to scoff at, and we’re sure the new owner will agree! Interior Overview Compared to the Land Cruiser 80 before it, the 100 series received a complete overhaul in terms of interior quality and amenities. The larger, more spacious interior still featured the power options you’ve come to know and love from the brand. Power windows, power mirrors, and a power moonroof are all operable and accessible with the push of a button, and the power locks work well. The front seats are heated, upholstered in a gray cloth, and show well overall, nicely contrasting the complementary wood trim that spans the interior from the center stack to the steering wheel. The dash is in great nick, with no cracks or distortion to note, and dual front SRS airbags are on hand to give your passengers some additional peace of mind. Dual-zone climate control is standard and is fully functional, down to the ice-cold A/C that flows freely about the cabin. Hot heat is on tap as well for when you inevitably test this Cruiser’s durability in the winter weather. The tired OEM audio has been replaced with a more modern Bluetooth unit by Pioneer, and the sound quality is fantastic and on par with most other luxury SUVs. The second row rapidly folds forward should you need additional cargo space in the rear, and the Cruiser’s signature clamshell tailgate allows for easy loading and unloading of large goods. Overall, we can’t say enough good things about the 100’s interior, and if you can see past some minor wear on the interior plastics and the non-functional folding feature of the side windows, we think this rig is in good shape. Mechanical Overview These “Lexus Land Cruisers” truly offer the best of both worlds in terms of comfort and capability. It’s remarkable how plush this solid axle, body-on-frame beast is on the road. The underpinnings are sturdy and able to withstand boatloads of abuse. The same can be said for the engine, the 2UZ-FE. To ensure fluid checks are seamless, we installed new hood shocks to lift the bonnet. Fresh off an oil and filter service, the 4.7L whirs to life with the twist of the key and starts immediately courtesy of a new 12V battery. A new engine air filter allows the V8 to breathe freely, and one of our trained techs performed a coolant flush, which won’t need to be done for another four years. The 2UZ-FE is linked to a stout automatic gearbox. It shifts properly and sends torque through the full-time 4WD system. A center locker and low range are on standby for your off-road excursions, and we have sorted out the driveline with new front CV axles. Also operable is the factory optional AHC suspension, which can grant more, or less ground clearance, depending on what’s required. The Cruiser hustles up to merging speeds without breaking a sweat and can slow down with confidence thanks to standard ABS and large disc brakes. The power steering is light yet on point, and a new passenger-side steering boot was installed while it was on the lift. We also replaced the front sway bar links for the VA state safety inspection. The suspension delivers a decent ride, and the wheels are wrapped in knee-deep tread, which will last for a long while to come. *California Residents: In order to register a Grey Market vehicle in the state of California then it will have to be made CARB compliant first. CARB certifications will have to be performed within the state. Depending on the vehicle and any existing modifications will affect the pricing. Typically CARB compliance will range between 5-10K.
