Description

Stock #6958 For those seeking a turn-key R33 that's tastefully modified, heavily maintained, and thoroughly battle-tested for use on our US highways and byways, look no further than this 1996. Exterior Overview The Nissan Skyline was a pillar of performance in the 90’s, and one of the most iconic sport coupes to emerge from the Japanese Domestic Market. With GTR prices reaching collection-only status for most enthusiasts, popularity on turbocharged, rear wheel drive GTS25-t models has skyrocketed in recent years. For those seeking a turn-key R33 that’s tastefully modified, heavily maintained, and thoroughly battle-tested for use on our US highways and byways, look no further than this 1996. It’s finished in Cloud White (QM1) and sports a host of cosmetic upgrades, like a tasteful GTR style front bumper, NISMO style side skirts, and a GP sports rear bumper. The rear end is set off by a GTR-style spoiler, and save for a few small nicks and dings on the body the cosmetics are in far above average shape compared to your average 90’s Nissan. New 17″ Enkei RPF1 wheels are on all four corners, and Tein coilovers snug up any unwanted wheel gap. Best of all, this R33 boasts only 91k verified and documented miles. With Skylines like this it’s hard to go wrong. The driving experience is second to none, the cabin is comfortable enough to drive daily, and with looks that can win over onlookers at any Nissan Cruise in or mega-meet, it goes without saying that this one is a bonafide Japanese Classic! Interior Overview The R33’s interior is a highlight of the chassis, and most enthusiasts unanimously agree it far surpasses the 32 that preceded it. Key improvements included additional legroom for both front and rear occupants, redesigned switchgear, and increased safety, with the inclusion of dual SRS airbags. The materials were given a bit of a refresh too, and the sweeping dash frames an accessible center stack, which has digital automatic climate control and Bluetooth-equipped BOSS audio on standby. For seasonal cruising, cold A/C or hot heat can kick on at a moment’s notice, and if you prefer to listen to the great outdoors, both power windows work as advertised. Further assisting daily use, the electric locks and side mirrors work well too, which power fold to assist tighter parking scenarios. A suite of Defi gauges are located conveniently atop the center stack to help the driver monitor engine vitals. A tilt-adjustable steering column gives ample real estate behind the wheel, and the factory cloth seats are accommodating for drivers of all shapes and sizes. The upholstery is in decent shape overall, if you can see past some separation on the driver’s bolster, and the remaining materials are in good shape, from the headliner to the carpets beneath. The rear seat can squeeze in a few additional passengers if needed, and we have no burning critiques about this cabin, save for some hastily mounted speakers in the rear deck. Mechanical Overview Easy to maintain, powerful, and affordable to operate. It’s not often you get all three in a drivetrain. Backed by a stout RB25DET engine and slick shifting 5 speed manual, this R33 has the recipe for success. Better yet, our trained technicians have given this one a once-over for the road ahead, and performed some useful preventative maintenance, like an expensive timing belt and water pump service. We installed a new crank pulley and alternator upon reassembly, and we buttoned everything up with new valve cover gaskets, spark plugs, an oil and filter service, and a fresh coolant flush. This should keep you covered for long-term service schedules, and with a Greddy front mount intercooler, HKS Blow Off Valve and Kakimoto catback exhaust, this 2.5T is as rewarding to listen to as it is to drive. This RB screams to redline, and shifts are handled through a smooth manual gearbox. It shoots the power rearward, and this Skyline cruises comfortably, even at higher speeds. Tein coilovers keep the chassis planted in the twisties, and new front caster arms were installed to help this R33 ace state inspection. The HICAS steering operates predictably after installing a new left rear ball joint and front right outer tie rod, and the brakes benefit from new pads and resurfaced rotors up front. To make sure traction is prioritized and you stay locked down in the twisties, we wrapped the RPF1’s in all new Falken tires, and performed a fresh four wheel alignment to make the most of all of our good reconditioning! *California Residents: In order to register a Grey Market vehicle in the state of California then it will have to be made CARB compliant first. CARB certifications will have to be performed within the state. Depending on the vehicle and any existing modifications will affect the pricing. Typically CARB compliance will range between 5-10K.
