Got my dream truck and Sam made the process very smooth! I am in a different state so it took coordinating and I am so thrilled to take the Hilux out for a spin. My first JDM!

Called today to make an offer on their blue miata that i had first reached out about in 2024 and have documentation they offered it to me at $11k. I was prepared to pay that today but the man said it was now the listing price cause “things changed”. I was ready to pay the full $12.9k since i had followed this car for years and they didn’t take my lowball offer, so today was the final i’ll pay whatever and take it :) but the person’s tone on the call was rude and my sincerity was met with disingenuousness.

Bought a Mitsubishi Delica. I drove it home 1197 miles. Never missed a beat. Sam was great , I flew into Richmond, VA and he had me on the road the same day. I’d recommend Jspec to anyone and plan on buying another Delica from him, once I get a RCC route, as my backup vehicle. Recommend this dealer to anyone.

I found J-Spec auto on Facebook. Fortunately I was able to contact them directly via phone. I talked to Sam who was extremely friendly, helpful, and professional. I purchase the Hiace van (with 5 speed standard which I love!) and planned on driving it back 1500 miles to Austin Texas area. Sam provided me with a free full tank of gas, and van made it home with no problems. The whole trip, organizing the logistics, flexibility regarding arrangements, and the purchase value and experience were all very positive. Would strongly recommend these guys.

For future plans for my Mazda Rx8 I needed to upgrade the Trans to the JDM 5 speed, which was built with different internals that handle more power. Just about any import company I looked at was shady. Main reason I went with Jspec was due to them posting actual pictures of the individual product. It arrived disturbingly clean with ~60k miles, doubt any car parts in New England could ever be this clean at that mileage. The trans did come with a full flywheel+ clutch assembly(I didn't use due to different weight for the jdm 4 port engine, I have a US 6 port) It also came with a new looking slave and higher power upgraded starter. Car is back together, all gears work with reverse being 10x easier to get into vs the US 6 speed. The only issue I have is that I can tell the 2nd gear synchro is worn. It is still beyond better than any of the three US 6 speeds I have sitting around. Somehow funny enough UPS freight was 10x more shady to deal with. Trying to track my shipment was a nightmare, called several times and was assured by UPS everything checked out. Jspec actually helped me out figuring out what was going on with the UPS issue. Turned out somehow UPS managed to get my shipment within 15 miles of my house and then managed to lose all my shipping info. I wasn't on a time crunch so it wasn't a big deal. I can imagine someone getting upset with paying UPS freight to ship within a certain time and having it take 3-4x the expected time. UPS might have had their issues, but I would definitely do business with Jspec again. Gonna be keeping an eye out for a JDM fd3s rx7 rew engine to swap in. Unsure if Jspec would be able to source a JDM trans rebuild kit, since they are non existent apparently.
