Buyer beware — avoid this place at all costs. I’m writing this because what happened to me was expensive, preventable, and deeply frustrating. And after reading other reviews from buyers, what I experienced doesn’t look like a one-off — it's a pattern. I went to Hoshi Motion to buy an Evo 5 expecting transparency and basic verification, especially for a higher-mileage imported performance car. Instead, the purchase turned into a rapid cascade of problems, and multiple key claims made during the sale did not match what I later found through inspection and repairs. Before purchase, I asked direct questions about maintenance and condition. I was told: the oil had been changed, the car had been “checked,” and timing belt service had been done. They did provide “service records,” but they were not usable in any meaningful way. The documents were in Japanese, and the way they were explained to me did not align with what I later learned. If a dealer is going to rely on overseas paperwork to support major maintenance claims, it’s on them to provide clear, verifiable documentation (with accurate translation) — not vague assurances that buyers are expected to accept at face value. The consequences were immediate and severe. The car had around 142,000 km, and less than 500 miles after purchase the timing belt failed and bent valves, resulting in over $2,000 in damage. On a car like this, timing belt verification isn’t optional — it’s a basic, high-stakes maintenance item. If it’s truly done, it should be provable. If it’s not provable, that uncertainty must be disclosed clearly. Within about 30 minutes of driving, a noise I had already raised before purchase returned. Soon after, the A/C failed, forcing me to drive back to Florida without A/C. After diagnosis and repairs, the A/C issue was traced to a leaking valve behind the dash — something that strongly suggests the car was not thoroughly inspected, or issues were not identified and disclosed before sale. At that point, I had the car inspected more comprehensively. The overall outcome was consistent: multiple items appeared overlooked, some work/maintenance appeared incomplete, and the vehicle did not match the condition and readiness that had been implied during the sale (including rust I was told was not present). When I raised these issues, the response was essentially “as-is,” with no meaningful effort to acknowledge the mismatch between what I was told and what I experienced. What makes this even worse is that, after reading other customer reviews, the common theme is familiar: confident claims, thin verification, and buyers left dealing with major issues after purchase. I’m not interested in arguing over semantics — I’m looking at outcomes. And the outcome here was me owning an expensive problem that should never have been sold to me the way it was presented. Bottom line: If you’re considering buying from Hoshi Motion, don’t. Protect yourself and buy elsewhere — from a dealer who provides clear documentation, accurately translated records, and real verification of major maintenance rather than expecting buyers to take it on faith. I learned the hard way.

Stay away from these scammer nick and his dad are the definition of unaccountability. I had chosen to do business with them after sitting down and having a talk with nick and trust me they are well informed with shipping jdm cars. But that doesn’t mean shit when they will scam you if they get the opportunity. My biggest regret was not suing them, they are lying untrustworthy scammers plain and simple. I lost 6k and 10 months/23k deposit being held up by these losers. They breached my contract they made and tried to sell me a clone at full market value of a genuine stock model price of the car I was seeking. I denied the car after things didn’t add up and noticing it wasn’t stock as they claim or the right model that they claimed it was before they purchased it in japan. Well at the end I even let them have an opportunity to make thing right multiple times because everyone make mistakes but it’s how you take care of the issue that shows character. And I let them sell the car as long as I got my money back well after months of waiting for it to sell i demand a deadline date to receive my deposit and come to find out the car was already sold. But for some reason they couldn’t even pay me in full they waited another month to pay me the rest of my deposit and that only because I had to showed up looking for it. And at the end of it they took 6k of my deposit because they said I didn’t hold up to my end of the contract. The only reason I denied the car was because they lied about it’s condition and the model it was that they supposedly had found for me. They claim this car was “Bone stock turbo model” a statement directly from them but come to find out it was a base model with an unknown mileage swap. Which they tried to sell me without ever mentioning it to begin with. so I guess it’s cool for them to breach a contract but if i deny the car they tried scamming for it’s a problem even though they made the contract! which on the top was for a turbo version “GTT” with “Low mileage”🤦‍♂️. Don’t give them your hard earned money there’s way better import companies out there.

They're selling trashy cars and selling then as if they're well operated gems 😭🙏. Scammy people just selling terrible cars. I got a 300zx TT imported from them recently. The car and instantly the valve cover gasket and the rear trans seal was blown as i drove off. Said they had test drove the the car beforehand yet they didn't find it. Granted they fixed it for free for me, about 2-4 weeks later i'm sitting here with a car and a motor that just killed itself. Car dropped oil pressure randomly as someone who was inspecting it took it for an easy drive about 9 minutes down his shop. I am now down about 18 GRAND and they're becoming harder and harder to contact and won't reply as reliably as they were when I was buying. Rocky and Nick seem like nice people but they honestly do not do good business and sell shady and crappy cars. I genuinly wish my review could be better because again they seem like good people but i'd rather write a honest review and hopefully help someone from getting scammed later.

This experience was horrible and disappointing. I was told it would take 3-4 months to complete they had my R34 for over 9 months. The body parts that were agreed to did not make it on my car. Paid for a full paint. Car had items on the car that were not painted, run and bubble spots all over the car. Multiple body panels misaligned, and the gas door won’t open because of alignment. I've called and emailed they have ignored me. Now I must spend more money to have the body panels aligned and paint correction or a re-paint.
