Amazing Auto Imports Ltd.

Mardy sold me a transmission for my Delica for around $3000 including shipping to Alberta. I am a red seal licensed auto tech, I used spiii fluid and installed a new filter, flushed the coolers and lines out. I installed the transmission then discovered the extension housing had a hidden crack above the mount. I temporarily sealed the crack and tried it out. Planning to remove the transmission again after confirming it worked. It didn’t, it shuttered badly and drove 1/2 block before losing all forward gears. I contacted Mardy and he said to change the range select switch. This was when I knew I got scammed…the switch worked fine and this was a mechanical problem. But I changed the switch as per Mardy. It wasn’t the problem(obviously). The transmission he sold me was junk. He ghosted me after telling him changing the switch didn’t fix it… Lucky for Mardy, my original transmission had too much internal damage to repair and since he made me pay by e-transfer instead of a credit card he got away with his scam. So I had to rebuild my now over-priced core. And make one out of the two… It cost me over $1000 in parts alone. that’s wholesale cost, Joe blow would have paid closer to $3000 to have this thing rebuilt(not including removal and install). I don’t believe Mardy knowingly sold me a piece of crap because the damage was hidden well(park pawl housing was cracked-see pics) . I had to remove the mount(that came pre installed conveniently enough) to see the crack. It was leaking onto the floor as I was filling it up with fluid… After tearing down Mardy’s transmission I discovered all the forward clutches and plates were completely worn out. Likely cause by it being run out of fluid, because the case was cracked… I gave up trying to get any money back from Mardy. He was super friendly and quick to take my money but once I had a problem he quit replying. I wasn’t looking for a full refund, chit happens but to sell me a complete piece of junk as a functional part and not offer to cover even a few hundred because of all the unconvinced alone would have gone a long ways. I’m still willing to change this review if that ever changes, But don’t see that happening.

Mardy went above and beyond to help us recently,. This, for one of his previous clients and not even current ones. We had ventured to import a Delica ourselves this time (not through Amazing Auto Imports as we had in the past) and on the one and only day in Vancouver to pick it up, problems with the van began surfacing. We reached out to Mardy who was gracious enough to let us bring the van to his shop to diagnose the issues. He then called in favours from different shops to get us in and the repairs taken care of before the end of the day. Without Mardy, we would have been left stranded and he had no incentive to help us out seeing as how we hadn't even purchased this vehicle from him. Once a customer, always a customer in Mardy's eyes. The level of customer service was beyond anything we have experienced anywhere. We cannot speak highly enough of Mardy and the way he treated us. Thank you again Mardy!

WARNING – DON’T BUY CARS HERE The radiator started leaking after only two weeks. Not a big deal for a used car, but when I tried to contact Mardy by phone, email, and WhatsApp, he completely disappeared. There was no response until legal action was involved. Mardy was also naive enough to fake his email history (see attached email), claiming that I had not read my emails. I later had the car checked by another mechanic and found out that I had bought a lemon. In the end, I had to replace the entire engine. If you ever buy from him, let the car be checked by an independent mechanic.

Amazing Auto Imports is the absolute best place to acquire your original JDM 👌, Mardi is the man and he will do everything to make your transaction as seamless and effortless as possible. Just have patience as this is not an easy task, but rest assured you won't find a more accommodating person to work with for your next new or used JDM.
